where should I go to buy boxes and moving supplies without having to order online?
I am in the Palo Alto/ South Bay & Peninsula area. Need to be able to go pick up from supplier or store, do not want to order online. a loisting of store or supplier locations is more or less waht I need.
Screw buying that stuff, go into your local stores and ask them for their boxes, they are more than happy most times to give them over as its one less trip to the trash for them.
Any local Uhaul store should sell boxes and tape and stuff. The boxes usually run from $1.75 to $10, depending on the size.

When I need boxes, I usually go check at a Home Hardware as they usually have boxes in the back that they pack up and discard. They are usually more than willing to give them to you for free. Probably check at any hardware store that you regularly go to and see if they will give you some boxes. Usually not a problem for them.

Local Uhaul locations would have boxes. Most local self storage facilities would have boxes and packing materials as well. You could also try Costco, I know that my local Costco has a moving kit that they sell that includes an assortment of boxes and tape.
Another option would be Office Depot, they carry cardboard boxes, bubble wrap, packing tape, packing peanuts and the like.

A lot of times people who just moved post for someone to take their old cardboard boxes. Take them! Those suckers can be expensive!

sometimes stores like wal-mart and fast food joints give away boxes for free if you go and ask nicely. they always have boxes that only going to get recycled so you can do that yourself by using them over again. tape doesn’t cost that much just find a dollar store and you have all your materials set.
