Maybe you could ask in a shop that sells large electrical items, i.e. Comet, Currys etc, they may have some boxes that their display goods come in.

A friend of mine just moved and he got all of his boxes from people advertizing them on craigslist. He just called them and picked them up. He didn’t have to pay anything for them. Good Luck

You don’t have to buy them, just go to any clothing store in the back where they have those big trash cans, they have one for recycling paper and there you’ll find alot of them. Any sizes.

Look in your local classified ads for used ones. Or check with moving companies they often sell used ones that are still in good shape for less money.

Go to shops which will have larger boxes. I used to work in an outdoor store and we had very big boxes. Shops wich sell bulky items will have big boxes, good luck in your new home.

The cheapest way is going to any small local shop and ask them for suitable boxes.
Most of them will be happy to get rid of them.

Try going to stores which sell large items, like furniture.
Prowl the alleys looking for boxes which have been thrown out.

Have you tried looking in DIY Stores, as they sell large storage boxes. Or ask a Moving Company if they will loan you some.

Try going to retail stores at stocking hours. Call ahead, find out when they stock, and then go visit and see about boxes. Talk to the store lead or a superviser in advance so they know you’re coming and don’t destroy the boxes in the compactor. I used to work in retail and you hardly ever get lucky if people aren’t stocking. Try you’re local Walmart, Target, Kroger, Savemart, Vons, Food Max, Food Lion, Ross, etc. Another idea is investing in plastic storage boxes, they last a long time and can be reused and store wonderfully in a garage.

You don’t say if you are using a removal company… If you are, they usually supply sufficient boxes when they come to assess the costing/lorry size/etc.
If you are doing your own removal, how about trying to get large boxes from electrical suppliers? Ask well in advance, so that they don’t break them down as their deliveries arrive.
Good luck in your new home.

Some removal firms can provide boxes too so you could ask around.

go to your local supermarket and ask for fruit boxes (Banana, Apple, Grapefruit etc). I have moved a number of times and have found these the best and cheapest.
You can’t get cheaper than free.

try ebay you’d be surprised what you can find on there. If you are looking for free ones the fruit stall at your local street market (if you have one near) is a good bet Banana and apple boxes are v. good, also if you know any one or any company buying new desktop computers those boxes are also very good.

Try going to Lowe’s or Home Depot (any home improvement store) ask if they could save you some larger boxes. I used laundry baskets that I already had last time I moved. You could also visit a car parts store, they normally recieve their stock in large boxes.

You do not need to spend money on these. Your moving company can supply. However, if you want boxes, go for the flat packed cardboard box type which is ready for immediate use.
