Where do you get boxes for moving?
I’m getting ready to move to a new apartment. I heard that if you go to groceries or wal-mart they give you boxes they dont need. is that true? do i just walk in and ask a sales person, or is there a department i need to go to?
Liquor store has really strong boxes. Not that big, but, who can carry something too big anyway. Especially good for glasses and breakables. Be careful with grocery store boxes, you can end up with pets (bugs) in the boxes.
Best bet is to go the produce department. Apple and orange boxes are sturdy, stack easy, and can hold alot of weight.

You can ask your local grocery store or go to a local fast food joint and ask for boxes (hamburger meat, french fry) etc.

i know the boxes are small but liquor stores usually have some and they dont really get food on them like in a grocery store, also some of the self storage places have them and they have that styrofoam stuff and it is really cheap…………..

The best boxes I have found to pack in are Banana boxes from the grocery stores and/or go to the closest Liquor Store and ask them for boxes. Banana boxes are padded for those "glass items" and although they have holes in them I found flat stuff (another advantage) to place in the bottom and wham I had another item packed. They come in various sizes and the Managers are usually thankful to get rid of them so they don’t have to dispose of them at the end of the day.

I got a ton of boxes from Bath and Body Works. They were in really great shape and pretty sturdy. Plus they smelled great. I also got some from Best Buy for the larger items. Just ask when their next shipment is and they will be glad to save the boxes for you.

Any store should have them and if they brake them down they will save them for you if you ask them too.

You can go to any Uhaul place, they sell them there or if you know of anyone that has some extra boxes form when they moved.

You can ask them in customer service. Also, grocery stores & liquor stores have them, too…as do moving companies.

Go to any place that receives products in large boxes, and ask them to save some for you (if they don’t have any). Be sure to pick them up when you say you will or they will be tossed. Try grocery store, restaurants, nursing homes, liquor stores, etc. Also moving companies will sell boxes.
